Greek-Turkish Relations

Egypt puts a "brake" on Turkey - Asks for an end to the conflict with Greece-Cyprus with a prize of the Mediterranean Forum

Cavusoglu's visit to Cairo the day before yesterday had the mission of withdrawing the Egyptians from military cooperation with Greece, but this ultimately backfired.

Cairo reportedly set 3 conditions from Ankara for the normalization of relations between the two countries:

A. The surrender of members of the Muslim Brotherhood to Turkey, who are wanted in Egypt, and are involved in carrying out armed operations against the Armed Forces, the police and the citizens of that country.

B. The termination of the Turkish military presence in Libya and the withdrawal of all pro-Turkish militias from it.

C. Ending the disputes with Cyprus and Greece and reaching a satisfactory agreement formula in exchange for Turkey becoming a member of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum.

These are very serious demands, which make sense, since anything else would mean that Egypt would be demilitarizing the Egyptian military and energy interests, while it would undermine the foundations of the state that President Al-Sisi resurrected with so much effort from 2013 onwards.

We should also never forget the Egypt-Greece-Cyprus energy plans for the transfer of electricity to the EU, which are already "running", and for which Cairo expects money and security from Europe.

We remind you that pointing out that he wants to revitalize bilateral relations in the military sector, Cavusoglu asked the Egyptian Foreign Minister Soukritos for the following: "As in the past, in the military sector, there were regular relations in the years when our diplomatic relations were cold, but there are also issues that, for example, the Turkish Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, must discuss with their counterparts in Egypt. This concerns an invitation by the Egyptian Army, to three exercises that will take place in Turkey, to intensify our common work in these areas as well."

However, the Turkish Foreign Minister did not receive an answer, since this is yet another exploratory type of contact between the two sides, with the "thorns" remaining between them.

There is an estimate that Turkey will do exactly what it did with Israel, leaving the terrorist organization Hamas to thresh inside and outside of Turkey, not complying with the demands of the Israeli government.

The situation in Libya, the declaration of the EEZ by Egypt, and the recent tension in the Mediterranean, combined with the exit of the helicopter carrier Anadolou, and the movement of BAYRAKTAR with a satcom system in Tripoli, certainly do not please Egypt.

The only solution to the problem called Turkey, is the cooperation of a military axis in the Eastern Mediterranean between Greece, Israel, Egypt, and Cyprus, with the assistance of France and the USA, to start all the important projects and stop Turkish blackmail.
