Russia ordered more of the powerful Krakurt class corvettes!

For Russians, Karakurt calss corvettes were a chepaer option that the Admiral Grigorovic class frigates. However, the egines of the frigates were Ukrainain and that's why the production of the ships stopped when Ukraine refused to send new engines to the country. In total, 16 ships haveen ordered!

In the armament now, the corvettes feature an 8-cell vertical launch system for the anti-ship cruise missiles P-800 Oniks. Kalibr missiles are also available for surface and land targets. The corvettes will have the ability to launch the Tsyrkon hypersonic cruise missiles when it will be fully operational.

There is also a 76mm AK-176MA naval gun on the ship.

The first two corvettes have been equipped with two AK-630M weapon systems for close distances and also 8 Igla-S and Verba air defense missiles. However, the rest of the fleet features the gun/missile system Patsy-M for air defense. The system shoot missiles at a maximum distance of 20km and a maximum altitude of 15km. In ordinary circumstances, the ships carry 32 of these missiles. The system is also fully automated.

The corvettes have a crew of 39 and are powered by 3 M507D-1 diesel engines that develop 8,000hp each.
