Revelation-Military cooperation between Turkey and Italy in Libya-Meloni and Erdogan want to exploit the oil outside of Haftar as well

Another revelation from the Italian media, following Meloni's recent visit to Erdogan in Turkey, which puts us in new adventures.

The reason is the revelation of the newspaper corriere.it, which states that " the strongest points of convergence ( Turkey and Italy) at the moment are Libya and military cooperation.

The Italians, fully accepting the illegal presence of Turkish military forces in Tripoli, Libya, and the construction of two Turkish bases in that country ( Al Watiya air base and the naval base in Misrata), are cooperating with the Turks against the Haftar regime, aiming of course at the huge deposits in the Libyan EEZ.

What the Italian newspaper says about the Erdogan-Meloni plan against Haftar and the country

"They disagreed on Gaza, but agreed on Libya and arms," the Italian newspaper says of the Meloni-Erdogan meeting in Istanbul.

Italian diplomats called the meeting with Erdogan "sincere" and constructive.

"Moreover, apart from geopolitical differences, Meloni also defined Erdogan's state as a 'friend and ally'. And for many reasons, which were discussed during the discussion between the two politicians.

"Palazzo Chigi also underlines that bilateral relations were evaluated in all their dimensions, political and defense, economic and cultural. The excellent state of economic relations was reflected in trade transactions that exceeded 25 billion euros and are approaching the common goal of at least 30 billion by 2030.

But perhaps the strongest points of convergence at the moment are Libya and military cooperation.

On the second point, it is no mystery that Italian companies have over the years, with a leading role, in autonomous production and know-how in the military sector for which Erdogan can only be indebted to us.

And if also last night, at the end of the meeting, Italian government sources stressed that "the various economic opportunities for Italian companies, including Leonardo, were examined", surely that means something.

The other topic dear to both is Libya, where Erdogan has deployed his troops to support the government recognized by the United Nations, as Italy is doing.

Erdogan and Meloni are working for a stabilized Libya, for the completion of the institutional and peace process, for the reunification of a state that has been torn apart by factions at war with each other for too many years.

And in this case, Meloni's staff is clear: "Cooperation in this area will be increasingly close and in relation to Libya, where the respective Foreign Ministries intend to conclude an agreement soon," the Italian press reports.

What Ankara and Rome are seeking in Libya

Turks and Italians are old acquaintances and have been cooperating for years in the flourishing "Turkish defence industry", which is "manufactured" through Italy, Ukraine and Spain.

The most serious thing for Greece is that the Italians will be the main ally of the Turks in Libya, with a double target, Haftar and the country's deposits.

In the event of the presence of Turkish floating drilling rigs accompanied by warships in the Libyan EEZ, the Italians will most likely assist, and as soon as they smell money they will run , as they did with the East Med pipeline, which they wanted to pass through Italian territory.

The bottom line is that the old friends are together, and that is why we must also move in the same way as France and Egypt, along an axis that prevents thoughts of provocations south of Crete.
