Ukrainian air defense sirens didn't even sound at first (they did later) and Russian Kinzal missiles were fired at Kiev causing panic.

Kiev and the rest of the country are facing a massive Russian attack and the attacks have been going on for 3 hours.

Polish air defense was put on alert and F-16 jets took off

Poland took to the air F-16 fighter jets due to an airstrike warning in Ukraine.

This was stated by Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamish on Radio Zet.

"In the morning, an air strike alert was declared throughout Ukraine. This is repeated cyclically and more often. These are mass attacks. Most of the missiles are flying in the western direction, that is, in the direction of Poland. Of course, they are aimed at the territory of Ukraine, but this morning in "All security systems in Poland are fully prepared," he stressed.

Kosinyak-Kamysh explained that there is an action algorithm, "F-16 aircraft were put into the air, missile defense and air defense systems were put on alert immediately."

He emphasized that "intense activity of the Russian long-range aviation related to missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine is being observed."

Maksim Kozicki, governor of Ukraine's Lviv region, said a Russian missile flying toward the border with Poland changed course. He said the missile flew over Lviv.

The Russians caught Ukrainian air defenses by surprise

On the morning of February 7, an air raid alert was announced across Ukraine. Local authorities and media reported explosions and fires in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Nikolaev, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy regions.

Due to the almost simultaneous entry into Ukrainian airspace of missiles from Tu-95, Tu-22M3 and Su-34 aircraft, we had the launch of "Caliber" missiles from the Black Sea and ground installations, as well as the use of UCAVs, which caused great destruction.

Important targets have been hit. For example, in Nikolaev, the Okean factory, where drones and equipment are assembled, as well as ammunition depots, was destroyed. In the Lviv region, training centers, military units in the forest near Borispil airport were hit.

A Russian missile also hit an 18-hour-old building that caught fire in the Ukrainian capital, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. Six people in the Dyprovsky district were injured, two have been taken to hospital, he added.

Electricity has been cut off in parts of Kyiv on Wednesday after damage was caused to high voltage lines.

The Russian Air Force launched missile attacks on Ukraine's energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities.
