They were "massacred" - PKK announces the killing of 36 Turkish soldiers in its operations - Mourning in Turkey (Video)

The Turkish operations against the PKK in Northern Iraq seem to be causing very heavy casualties and a heavy blood toll in the ranks of the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF).

PKK announces the death of 36 Turkish soldiers in operations on 22 December

Specifically, Kurdish media reported that 36 soldiers of the Turkish occupation forces were killed in rebel areas during an operation on 22 December in the Xakurke and Metîna districts.

The People's Defense Forces (HPG) Press Center issued a statement with information on the latest rebel actions against Turkish occupation forces in the rebel Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

The HPG statement on Saturday said: "The guerrilla movement for the freedom of Kurdistan, which fights with a spirit of sacrifice in every season, under all circumstances and everywhere, carried out the Revolutionary Operation Martyr Ahmed Rûbar in Xakurkê and the coordinated guerrilla action in Metîna inflicting a heavy and crushing blow to the invaders

With his high ability to use new guerrilla tactics and unwavering will to overcome all kinds of difficulties, he gave an effective response even in harsh winter conditions.

As shown in the following X , several soldiers of the Commando Brigade were killed and wounded during the PKK insurgent attack in Northern Iraq

Members of the raiding unit were seemingly armed with M16A4 assault rifles, PKM machine gun and RPG-7 launcher with a PG-7V rocket launcher.

PKK operations by sector

The HPG Press Centre reported the following by area:

Xakurke district

During the operation conducted in Xakurke at 15:05 on 22 December, which was dedicated to the memory of rebel commander Ahmed Rûbar, who had fallen in 2022, the rebels captured a hill previously occupied by Turkish soldiers.

27 conquerors were killed at Girê Şehîd Kamuran and the bodies of 17 soldiers were searched by the rebels. The rebels seized weapons and military equipment, much of which was destroyed.

According to the HPG, the operation began after targeted shelling of Turkish army units with heavy weapons in the Girê Şehîd Kamuran and Girê Şehîd Heqî areas. One position was destroyed.

Later, insurgents infiltrated the positions held by Turkish soldiers in Girê Şehîd Kamuran from three sides.  The Turkish force on the Girê Şehîd Kamuran hill was completely annihilated. The area remained under rebel control for half an hour.

The rebel of HPG Memyan, who led the action with great courage, was martyred during the operation.

The Turkish occupation army, which was dealt a crushing blow, again hid most of its victims from the public, revealing only the names of Lieutenant Ramazan Günay, Special Sergeant Mehmet Serinkan, Special Corporal İsmail Yazıcı and military instructors Emre Taşkın, Yasin Karaca and Çağatay Erenoğlu.

However, it has been clarified that at least 27 intruders were killed in the Şehîd Şehîd Şehîd Revolutionary Operation Ahmed Rubar.

It was also reported that Infantry Major Yavuz Tunç, non-commissioned officer Samet Emir Sapan, Special Sergeant İbrahim Parıldar, Special Sergeant Emrullah Yıldırım, Special Sergeant Mehmet Ali Bozkurt and military instructor Hasan Hüseyin Keskin were seriously wounded.

Medina area

At 10:00 on 22 December, a coordinated guerrilla action with infiltration tactics against the intruders took place in the Girê Ortê Resistance Area. 9 invaders were killed and were effectively hit with grenades and individual weapons at close range. In addition, 4 tents, 2 posts and 1 surveillance camera were destroyed.

Western Zap area

Two surveillance cameras installed by the Turkish army were destroyed by snipers in the Girê Amêdîyê and Girê FM resistance areas in West Zap district on 20 December.

Attacks by the Turkish army

Regarding the Turkish army's attacks on the Medya Defence Zones in the last three days, the HPG reported that three drones loaded with explosives were used against rebel positions in the Şehîd Diyar and Sîda districts in Zap.

Turkish fighter jets also bombed rebel areas twenty times during this period, targeting Gundê Çemrobotkî, Gundê Yekmalê and Deşta Kafya areas in Gare. Lolan, Girê Rostê and Goşînê districts in Xakurke; Gundê Bêşîlî and Gundê Şêlazê districts in Medina and Girê Hîwa and Girê Şehîd Egîd districts in Qendîl.

Artillery attacks by the Turkish army targeted the areas of Zap, Şehîd Delîl Western Zap, Metîna and Xakurke.

Deadlock in the military repression of the Kurdish issue

The above demonstrates once again that despite the undeniable military superiority of the Turks over the PKK terrorist organization, its fighters continue to bleed the Turkish army, despite the continuous - successive operations of the TDF, especially since 2016.

The Kurdish issue has been consuming Turkey for the last 40 years, which has been mourning thousands of dead and wounded.

The "neighbours" should realise that the PKK fighters have the support of the Kurdish population, which overwhelmingly supports them, similar to what the fighters of the Hamas terrorist organisation do with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Just as in the Palestinian issue the solution to finally stop the bloodshed with Israel is the creation of a Palestinian state, so in the Kurdish issue the solution is not a military one but the creation of a Kurdish state.

Besides, the model for this already exists, since in Northern Iraq there is a semi-autonomous Kurdish state, while in Northeastern Syria the Kurds of the YPG, with the support of the USA and despite the military insistence of Turkey, have laid the foundations for something similar.
