According to Allison, Ukraine needs a significant advantage in the coming weeks in order to move forward successfully. Otherwise, separate sections of the front line will be blocked and protracted positional battles will begin.

Allison emphasized that this statement is based on an analysis of the current military-political situation and the experience of many international conflicts. In such situations, as a rule, opponents seek to achieve a significant success, which becomes a decisive factor in subsequent negotiations.

An analysis of the last three weeks of the offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine shows that Kiev has not been able to register any success.
