On the 438th day of the war - specifically last night - the Russians launched a large-scale missile attack on various targets in Ukraine. Explosions were reported in Kiev, with Ukrainian air defenses reportedly downing 30 drones.

Five people were injured by the blows and several buildings were destroyed. A Russian missile hit a food warehouse in Odessa, causing a fire that spread over an area of 6,000 square meters.

The Strikes in Kyiv

More specifically, Russia launched a wave of missile attacks on Kiev and other parts of the country on Sunday night as authorities in Moscow prepared for Victory Day celebrations on Tuesday.

Of the five injured, three received injuries from explosions in a residential area, while the other two were injured from drone crashes.

Debris from these UAVs fell on the runway of a city airport, while others hit a two-story building and the roof of an apartment building.

The military administration of the city of Kyiv reported that at least 30 drones were shot down over the capital.

Rocket attack on Odessa

The Southern Operational Command of the Ukrainian military has now reported that a food warehouse in Odesa was destroyed after being hit by Russian Kh-22 missiles. The rockets, which were launched from a plane, caused a fire that spread over an area of 6 thousand square meters.

No casualties were reported, however firefighters are still at the scene trying to extinguish the flames.

Air raid sirens could be heard for hours in two-thirds of the country. Local media reported explosions in the south of the Kherson region and in the southeast of Zaporizhia.

Finally, there are more and more indications that the mercenaries of the Russian privateer Wagner have abandoned their plans to leave Bakhmut on May 10, as their leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, had previously stated.

After he made this announcement, it appears that the Russian military promised him more ammunition, resulting in an escalation of the shelling of Bakhmut. This was reported by Ukrainian general Oleksandr Syrskyi, commander of the country's ground forces.

He believes that the Russians intend to capture Bakhmut by Victory Day on May 9, but promised that Ukrainian troops will do everything to prevent it.
