Erdogan's new game - After Greece, he is going after Egypt - The target is the US F-16 and the role of a guarantor power in Gaza

Erdogan is doing the "necessary philanthropy" and after Greece, he changes the foreign policy of his country with Egypt as well.

Erdogan goes from "a shit-step to a shit-step" - After Greece, he revises his relations with Egypt as well

This shift by the Turkish president comes in an attempt to escape his country's isolation from the West, especially after his extreme support for the Hamas terrorist organization and his rabid attacks on Israel and its Prime Minister Netanyahu, whom he called terrorists.

Following the above, having in mind Erdogan to buy 40 F-16 BLOCK-70 from the US and 40 EUROFIGHTER from UK-Germany in order to support his expansionist relations in the Aegean and SE Mediterranean, with the US and German Cagellario Solts "throwing the door" at him, he decided to transform himself into a peace-loving leader who develops good relations with neighboring countries such as Greece and Egypt.

So from the time when the Turkish President was saying about our Prime Minister Mitsotakis that "it is over for me" and that "we will come one day suddenly", implying that the Turkish Armed Forces will attempt to occupy our islands in the Aegean at night, we went from that to the signing of the "Declaration of Friendship and Good Neighbourliness between Greece and Turkey" in Athens on 7 December in a few months.

Erdogan's "shit-tramp" now continues with Egypt and its President Sisi, as the Turkish Presidency's Communications Directorate announced that President Tayyip Erdogan congratulated the Egyptian President for his overwhelming victory in the recent elections in his country with 89.65% of the vote.

We recall that Erdogan had until recently called the Egyptian President a 'coup d'état' and had frozen Turkey's relations with the land of the Pharaohs for years.

Sisi's rise to the Egyptian presidency

While Mubarak ruled Egypt with the support of intelligence and the military for years, Sisi was the newest member of the Supreme Military Council. Mubarak lost after 30 years in power in 2011 when the military refused to quell the Egyptian people's opposition during the Tahrir Revolution.

He was replaced by Mohamed Morsi, who was supported by the Muslim Brotherhood, in Egypt's first free elections held in 2012, with a 51% turnout.

One of Morsi's first actions was to replace Mubarak's chief of staff, Hussein Tantawi, with Sisi, whom he believed would not be harmful because he was religious.

Sisi then overthrew Morsi in 2013 in a coup backed by Saudi Arabia with the tacit approval of the United States.

Erdogan's hostile attitude towards Sisi

Erdogan announced that he will not recognize the coup-led Egyptian administration. Both countries declared each other's ambassadors persona non grata.

Sisi was subsequently elected President with 97% of the vote in the 2014 elections held with 40% turnout, and achieved another victory in the 2018 elections, again with 97% .

In 2019, when Erdogan saw that US President Donald Trump had accompanied Sisi to the honorary table at the leaders' dinner in New York for the UN General Assembly, he protested the dinner and did not attend.

Then on October 9, 2019, the same day that Turkey's Operation Peace Source was launched against YPG/PKK forces in Syria, Erdogan would receive a provocative letter from Trump.

In the letter, which is a black mark in Turkey's diplomatic history, the US President addressed the Turkish President with expressions such as "don't be an idiot" and "don't be a bully".

This letter was to be accompanied by another blow to the Turkish economy, which was already beginning to falter.

Turkey-Egypt relations have been bad for the last ten years

Egypt, Greece, Egypt, Israel, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and all those with whom Turkey had bad relations at the time expanded their relations, while Turkey and Egypt fought a war through proxies in the Libyan civil war.

It was Hakan Fidan, the then head of MİT and now Foreign Minister, who began to build bridges of reconciliation with Egypt.

Qatar's role and Turkey's re-engagement with the UAE-Saudi Arabia

Then Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim intervened, who brought Erdogan and Sisi , at the opening ceremony of the World Cup, together and reconciled them.

Meanwhile, Erdogan had already made peace with UAE Emir Mohammed bin Zayed, whom he called the financier of the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, and with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whom he declared to be the instigator of the murder of Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed at the Consulate General in Istanbul.

Suddenly, pro-government media started appearing in the pro-government media to talk about Turkey being funded with USD 20 billion from the UAE and 20 billion more from Saudi Arabia.

Where is Erdogan meaning with this?

Recently, US President Joe Biden spoke positively about Erdogan's visit to Greece in the Turkish President's phone call on December 14, where he reportedly said: "Pass Sweden's NATO membership through the Turkish Parliament and I will pass the F-16s through Congress."

Therefore, the Turkish President is seeking through his approach with Mitsotakis and Sisi to convince the US that he has peaceful intentions in the SE Mediterranean and Aegean and that he will not use the F-16 BLOCK-70s he wants to buy for expansionist purposes against the two countries.

At the same time, the Turkish President is attempting to play a role in the post-war era in the Gaza Strip , rebuilding it and assuming a role as a guarantor force for the Palestinians.

Egypt is a stumbling block in this effort and that is why Erdogan is siding with Sisi.
