French Le Monde reproduced Turkish map with Greek islands belonging to Turkey-Strong protest from Athens (upd)

Following relevant instructions from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, the Greek ambassador to France, Dimitrios Zevelakis, sent a letter to the French newspaper Le Monde.

In it, he pointed out the wrong practice of republishing a map, which depicts the results of the elections in Turkish territory including Greek islands, according to diplomatic sources.

In addition, according to the same sources cited by APE-MPE, Athens requested the immediate deletion of the map and the avoidance of its reproduction by the English and French electronic editions of Le Monde, "in order to restore the correctness and accuracy of the information published, as well as to avoid causing confusion to the reading public".

French newspaper Le Monde reproduced a Turkish map of Anadolu, which showed Greek islands as belonging to Turkey, during the vote on Sunday, May 14, 2023.

On the map, the regions that have been "won" by the two gladiators, Tayyip Erdogan and Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who have now set their sights on the second round on May 28.

The Aegean islands, such as Rhodes, Symi, Kos, Leros, Chios and Ikaria, were included in the... Turkish regions that voted for Kilicdaroglu, in an attempt of a hybrid war by the Turks against our country, because it is not going to clearly by mistake.

It is mathematically certain that Erdogan, after the elections (and his possible victory) will methodically seek to seize the slightest opportunity and seek a showdown with Greece, (his main rival), in the Aegean, we emphasize this, because the statements that "we will come one night suddenly" did not refer to Ottoman dailiki, but are based on war plans that they have prepared for years and which the Turks have now updated.

Of course, the AKP regime will first seek to get the Greek side to back down and bloodlessly accept the division of the Aegean, something that no Greek government is going to do under the weight of the popular reaction.

The Turks not only want to bisect the Aegean, to exploit only the hydrocarbons, but also to gain military power in the sea corridor in a straight line from the Bosphorus Straits to the Eastern Mediterranean, connecting the Turkish presence in Occupied Cyprus to Suez.

The Turks are seeking the following in the future:

1. Our islands, with the continuous settlement of Muslim immigrants, will become a target of Turkish intentions, reaching as far as occupying some of them, which the Turks have been pursuing since 1915.

2. In Western Thrace, after a few years we will have a Kosovo-type issue, with the Turks then recognized, probably asking for autonomy.

3. The Aegean will become an area in which our country will not be able to exploit even its fish, since the Turks will sweep everything.

4. With this agreement, the appetite of the Northern neighbors, Bulgaria, Albania, for redemptive claims and compensations, blackmailing our country, will be re-opened.

But nothing is going to succeed because of Hellenism and mainly because of the strong Greek Armed Forces, which will be called and defend our country whenever required.
