"Thorn" in their eyes, the largest church of Christianity - Turkish politician calls for complete conversion of Hagia Sophia into a Mosque

According to earlier information, Greek Archaeologists had appealed to UNESCO, rightly believing that it is an ominous future for Hagia Sophia after its transformation into a mosque.

Today the Turkish politician Temel Karamolaoglu, head of the Party of Happiness, published a challenge message for the whole of Hellenism.

"Hagia Sophia, when we come to power, will be opened in real terms," he said.

He shared on his social media account his vision for the largest church in Christianity which is a "thorn" in the eyes of many extreme Islamists in the neighboring country.

All of them constitute a large and powerful population group in Turkey, which recalls the Ottoman period, while aiming to destroy everything that does not have "Turkish origin".

In his post, Karamolaoglou said: “When we come to power, Hagia Sophia will open in real terms. She will find her soul again.

If Hagia Sophia is the symbol of conquest, the symbol of Fatih is justice."

Without specifying exactly what he means, we understand that this is a plan that concerns the elimination of anything reminiscent of a Christian church, such as the covering of murals, icons, while we will also have structural interventions in certain places, so that internally at least it does not remind anything of the ancient its Byzantine past.

The Turks consider the Hagia Sophia as a trophy of Muhammad the Conqueror, and thus have included it in any of their plans, with the aim of completely altering the history of a temple inaugurated by the Emperor Justinian on December 27, 537.

Regarding the already conversion of Hagia Sophia into a Mosque by Erdogan, we do have verbal support from the West, but essentially nothing tangible.

Russia, on the other hand, did not react at any point to the conversion into a Mosque, so as not to spoil Russian-Turkish relations, while there was also rivalry with the Ecumenical Patriarchate because of the Ukrainian church.

Hellenism must raise the issue of Hagia Sophia on a bilateral level constantly, while we should send requests to all international organizations for the destruction of world heritage, and the alteration of the Christian character of Hagia Sophia by the Turkish government.

The Turks, taking a defiant stance, point the finger at us in our country for Mosques from the Ottoman period, which we are restoring with EU funds, while they themselves have made Mosques Three temples with the name Agia Sophia, and present the ancient Greek findings in Asia Minor as achievements of the "ancient people of the East", or as Roman.

The hugs and friendships with the Turks will last very little, as long as Ankara needs to recover from the consequences of the earthquake, and then it will return fiercer and more dangerous than ever, due to its plans against Greece-Cyprus.
