HIA's partnership with Lehigh University is part of HIA's plans to establish a Private Aerospace University, which, among other things, will include Schools of Piloting, Air Traffic and Airline Management. This plan is fully supported by the Ministry of Education.

HIA is becoming an international centre for aerospace studies, hosting over 1,000 Arab students through contracts worth hundreds of millions of euros. It has recently completed a 9,500 sqm educational building worth 20 million euros with its own funding, and has already started the procedures for the construction of two (2) other similar buildings.

HIA's CEO, Mr. Dimitrios Papakostas, who is a graduate of Lehigh University and a member of the University's International Advisory Board, said: "I am proud of the agreement between HIA and Lehigh University, which will allow HIA to establish an International University with studies in Aerospace. Having already earned laurels in international education through existing programs, we intend to become one of the few universities in the world with specialized aviation studies. HIA is moving forward with projects, progress and vision."
