These are the 5 best military trucks ever made!

Some of the features that help us rank these vehicles are maximum payload, mobility, reliability, production numbers, and more. Let's see the 5 best of their kind!

5. KrAZ-6322

The Ukrainian heavy truck is reliable and proven. The truck entered production in 1999 and so far there are many countries like Angola, Egypt, and India that purchased it.

The maximum payload is about 10t, although it can tow a trailer up to 30t. In the airfield, it can tow aircraft up to 75t. Its basic role is to transport troops. The vehicle can fit 24 soldiers and has off-road capabilities.

4. Ural-4320

The Russian off-road truck follows the design on Ural-375 that entered production in 1961. Its design is pretty conventional and there aren't many changes till 1976.

The maximum payload is about 4,5t off-road and 6t inroads. It can work at temperatures between -50 to 50 Celsius.

3. MAN SX

MAX SX series couldn't miss the list as they are impressively successful vehicles.

The maximum payload reaches 14 to 16t for the 8x8 SX45 trucks, while there are also 6x6 SX44 vehicles. These trucks were designed to transport heavy military equipment like missile launchers, radar, and more. The engines are under and behind the cabin, a configuration that reduces its height. Its mobility provides it with enough speed to keep up with the rest of the convoy.

2. M1078 LMTV and M1083 MTV

Both of these models have more than 90% of their parts common. Some of these parts are the cabin, engine, wheels, and more. The basic M178 vehicle was designed to transport cargo, while the basic 6x6 is the M1083.

The advantages of these trucks include their reliability, their low production, and maintenance cost, and their long-term effectiveness. Their design can perform well in the 21st century, that's why it has been offered to many countries worldwide.

1. Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG

The German UNIMOG was designed in 1946, right after the war. Even though it's old, it's the most successful design of its kind. Even 70 years later, the truck is produced with a few changes on the basic model!

The 4x4 truck can carry cargo between 1,250 with 7,500kg. The trucks are being used by 30 countries. They feature high mobility, reliability, and decent performance. They can travel through snow, mud, and other harsh terrains. They are sued for transporting troops, equipment, or working as command vehicles or other roles.
